Glycine

Glycine, also known as aminoacetic acid, is a non-essential amino acid for humans. It appears as a white crystalline powder, has a sweet taste, and is readily soluble in water; it is slightly soluble in methanol and ethanol, but insoluble in acetone and diethyl ether.
